The writer of this blog is Tina Tenneberg, who is German and has lived in London, UK, for 16 years.
London might be the most multicultural and international place in the world, which comes in handy for the topics I am writing about and I enjoy the feeling of having the whole world at my doorstep.
I hold an MA in linguistics and literature and have experience working with language in various ways, as a translator, especially of websites, literature, film subtitles, and voice-overs, a German teacher, journalist and magazine sub-editor and I have also worked with audio.
The question that people ask me most often is whether I would translate their books. Although I am flattered by the requests, unfortunately, I have to say no because it takes a long time – sometimes even longer than writing a book in the first place – but I can recommend several translator colleagues, who have said they are willing to work with indies.
Whatever I do professionally is usually connected to language, my job description is changing all the time and life is never boring. On this blog, I bring my various experiences together, I am sharing what I have learned myself and I am passionate about empowering writers and translators.
If you are able to read German, you can find my German language blog at LondonUndMehr.com. In addition, I have recently started writing in English on blogging platform Medium, mainly about writing and blogging and there is an overlap because bloggers can easily become self-publishers of books and self-publishers may start blogs.
